Standing with the work
The Soil and Peace support page — the single standing ask
I work as an independent volunteer in Verkhovyna, in the Ukrainian Carpathians, alongside the household that hosts the work. The dispatches on this blog report the work as it happens.
I go without a salary and without a grant — nothing is owed to anyone who pays, which is what keeps the work honest. The German income I lived on pauses the moment I leave the country. My obligations there do not: health insurance, a specialist policy for a war-affected region, the server that carries the work, travel.
A small standing circle covers that bridge. The target is the German existence minimum — about €1,200 a month — and the full breakdown of where it goes is set out in the funding framework. Nothing is hidden.
It does not fund the work in Ukraine itself. Project costs — materials, the toloka, larger travel — run through the inviting local partner, kept separate.
If you would like to stand in the circle, a recurring monthly amount of whatever is right for you carries it until a pension base comes online next year. A no is always fine.
